Supporting Parents with Disabilities
Parents with disabilities are often overlooked, misunderstood, or unfairly judged in the child welfare system. At MFSA, we advocate for the rights of disabled parents by helping them understand their protections under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and making the system easier to navigate.
We do not provide legal advice or representation—but we do offer:
Support in understanding your rights and accommodations under the ADA
Help translating legal or case-related information into accessible, plain language
Advocacy during case planning, assessments, or services
Guidance for communicating with caseworkers, attorneys, and service providers
A safe space to talk through what’s happening and get help planning your next steps
Whether you’re already involved in the child protection system or are worried you might be, you don’t have to face it alone. We walk alongside you with respect, without judgment, and with a commitment to making sure your voice is heard.
